FUSION
Fusion is the energy source of our sun. On earth, fusion is the ultimate renewable: safe, clean, efficient, and with an abundant fuel supply. Fusion will provide energy independence, jobs, and technological leadership for the nation that produces the first commercial fusion power plants.
The path to commercial fusion systems has been paved by decades of international research. In the near future, two large-scale experiments will demonstrate net gain from fusion (NIF and ITER). Many more compact and simpler systems are being developed in parallel, putting fusion energy within reach of private industrial development. The race is on to produce the first commercially viable fusion energy system, to enter a $Tn market.
