Example #1

Under contract to Florida A&M University, Woodruff Scientific Inc designed and built the Spheromak Turbulence Physics Experiment (STPX)

We have learned from prior spheromaks and have designed a flexible system using modern vacuum techniques.  We have reduced the pulse length of the spheromak formation banks to the minimum necessary (dictated by the physics), and integrated the vacuum boundary with the confinement chamber wall.  We have designed and built the world’s largest spheromak, with formation current pulses of 600kA on a budget of less than 500k, and in under 1 year.
